Around 22 eager and hungry Urantia Family friends gathered around 10 AM at the Mogilka's house for a delicious brunch and a lesson from Beth Challis on the "Inevitabilities." She sequestered the youth and had them draw illustrations on each of the inevitabilities and then they discussed them.  I am so amazed at the insight and the obvious ministry of the Spirit of Truth in their interpretations.  These are some cool kids, I'm telling you.  The adults just sat and read the Inevitabilities and had a regular study group until Beth brought the kids in to share their creations.

Prayers and cards for Waldine, Jeralie and Garry were thoughtfully signed. 

March 21 isn't that far away to put the next family worship on your calendar.  Come hungry and you will be fed the bread of life and some awesome material food.  See you then,

23 was the unofficial count of Brunch eating, truth loving souls all forgathered at the Allen house for food , fellowship and the furtherance of Urantia Book understanding and appreciation. Nicolas Allen will be 13 this week and we were privileged to have him manage the lesson for todays program. He chose to have us study the story of the wee little Publican and sinner named Zacchaeus whose desire to see Jesus amongst the throngs that swarmed him in Jericho led him up a Sycamore tree from whence he knew he could catch a glimpse of Jesus. He got a lot more than what he bargained for, as Jesus called him down from the tree by name and informed him that he was to host the Master that night in his home. In his scramble to get down, he nearly fell out of the tree, but was so transformed by the experience of the love of the Master, that in response to the cavilling of a few "Sons of Abraham" who criticized the Master for cavorting with a known Publican and sinner, Zacchaeus promised to give ½ of all his wealth to the poor, and to repay any wrongfully exacted tax payments by 400% over and above the normal recompense. 20% above was the Jewish law, but the generousity and genuineness of Zacchaeus' conversion were amply evident. Jesus confirmed that Zacchaeus was indeed a true "Son of Abraham".

Tom sang a traditional Christian song about "Wee Little Zacchaeus" and the kids all broke out and drew pictures of Zacchaeus and presented them at the end of the adult class. Very creative interpretations were evident.

I counted 24 people, young and old at our Sunday brunch and class today held graciously at the Mogilka's fine home. After an amazingly fine brunch, Michael Challis took the kids aside and taught them about the "shadow of a hair's turning." (P. 555 § 1 48:6.22) Luckily there was enough sunlight for the kids actually to see the shadow of the hair as they turned it to see how really small such a phenomenon is. The adults read from the Section on "Truth, Beauty and Goodness" which is from what I believe is the most difficult Paper in the Urantia Book, "Universal Unity". A wonderful social period outside in the nice weather followed and then we went our separate ways, no doubt better for the experiences we went through.

October 18 is our next scheduled Family Class, so stay tuned for more details,

A most delightful brunch satified our 16 hearty appetites as Cabot's prayer and Tom's lesson satisfied our spiritual cravings. Being only 5 days away from Jeaus birthday, Tom did his lesson telling the amazing story about how Mary, Joseph, Zacharia and Elizabeth became aware that they were destined to be the parents of some pretty impressive baby boys. Mary and Joseph started their eventful journey to Bethlehem on August 18, which is this Tuesday. Lets all remember this when we meet for class at Veldon and Charlene's house this Tuesday.

A busy week of Urantia activities await us as we culminate in Jesus' birthday and Saturday's workshop.
